Feng shui · East sector

Feng shui for health.

Health is the area where feng shui overlaps most with contemporary environmental design science. Most of the moves are evidence-supported in the modern literature: cross-ventilation, daylight, clutter reduction, sleep design.

Three moves you can make tonight. Free.

None of these need a compass, a Kua number, new furniture, or money. Pick one. Do it before bed.

  1. Open every window in the home for ten minutes a day.

Stale indoor air is the most under-rated feng shui problem and one of the most-measured environmental health problems. The improvement is rapid and free.

  2. Replace every dead bulb in the home this weekend.

Especially overhead lights in the morning rooms. Light intensity in the morning regulates the circadian rhythm. The tradition has been recommending bright morning light for centuries.

  3. Walk the home with a notebook and list every broken thing.

Then fix one this week. Broken means stuck in the tradition; in modern psychology, broken means cognitive load every time you see it. One repaired item compounds.
